On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, it is with great pleasure for us to host the 27th World Conference of the Air Transport Research Society in Lisbon.
Let us take the opportunity to welcome you to University of Lisbon and ISEC Lisboa, Portugal.
This conference provides the insites about how in recent years, there has been rapid increase in the use of air passenger and on high-value cargo transportation. The high increase in the demand for air transportation imposes great challenges for maximizing the efficiency of aircraft (airside) operations as well as for managing the airport infrastructure, both in terms of internal passenger flows and for safeguarding efficient airport access. This trend is expected to continue over the next years. Thus, a continuous reflection is necessary regarding the most appropriate models of exploitation and segmentation to ensure the full use of existing and/or future infrastructures. These an many other subjets related to air transport are discussed here.
We hope all of participants will enjoy the conference and your stay in Lisbon.

Dear colleagues and friends,
I hope you are doing well in the new year! As we had completed successfully our 26th ATRS World Conference in Kobe Japan, we look forward to meeting you at the 27th ATRS World Conference July 1-4, 2024, Lisbon, Portugal. This will be the second ATRS World Conference in Portugal (our 14th meeting was held in Porto, 2010). Our Portuguese colleagues have already started preparation work.
I would like to thank the Lisbon conference organizers, especially Chair, Professor Rosário Macário, for their excellent preparation so far. We all hope that you attend the conference in Lisbon where we can exchange research results and ideas, and renew old acquaintances and meet new friends.
